I am working on a large RFP for FDDI Adapters to go with potentially
5000 Alpha PCI Workstations. Is there any way to post in one note
the following:
PCI FDDI Adapter
Minimum Supported Operating System Levels
for Both Fiber and Cat 5 if different
OpenVMS - ?
DEC UNIX - ?
Windows NT - ?
Which cards are "qualified" by Microsoft for NT and for what version,
Which cards are "qualified" by Novell and for what version of Novell

The -AA, -UA, and -DA options are all treated the same at the driver
level.
>>OpenVMS - ?
v6.2
>>DEC UNIX - ?
v3.2
>>Windows NT - ?
On Intel and Alpha, the minimum supported is v3.5.
On MIPS and PowerPC, the minimum supported is v3.51.
Note: Windows NT 3.51 ships with DEFEA and DEFPA drivers on the CD.
>>Which cards are "qualified" by Microsoft for NT and for what version,
The DEFEA and DEFPA are on the May 1995 HCL and are supported on NT
3.51 on all platforms.
>>Which cards are "qualified" by Novell and for what version of Novell
The DEFPA DOS ODI and ODI server drivers were NetWare 4.02 certified
around the beginning of 1995. There are more recent drivers that
should get into the next cert queue by the Fall. The NetWare SFT III
MSL drivers are at Novell Labs getting certified now. There are no
current plans to certify the OS/2 ODI client drivers.
