1712.0. "PCI/DEFPA limit for Multicast/Broadcast addresses?" by 51488::RUOTILA () Thu Jun 08 1995 04:53

    Hi,

    Question about PCI/DEFPA. Is there a limit for PCI/DEFPA if we
    think about Multicast/Broadcast addresses? I think I have seen
    number 64, but can someone confirm this?

62 addresses will fit in the DEFPA address CAM.

    In addition to the 62 free entries in the CAM, the DEFPA also supports
    a number of receive filters including multicast and unicast/multicast
    promiscuous modes. So, push comes to shove, the adapter can be
    programmed to accept packets beyond the limits of CAM space.
