1698.0. "How to set IP address on a DC500 V3.4" by CX3PST::NOTAMI::A_ANDERSON (CX03 2/H13 NSU/VAX MacGhille Aindrais) Fri May 26 1995 19:00

Hello all,

I have a customer with a DEC concentrator 500 running V3.4 software. He is
trying to set a IP address and Gateway address on the DC500.

At the Set menu he selects option 1 then enters his IP address. It reports
an unknown erorr then goes back ot the manue. The same thing happens when he
tries to set a Gateway Address. It reports an unkniown error.

Are there any bugs in V3.4 that can cause this. Or is there any thing else
that needs to be done prior to setting this address.

Thanks,
Alan Anderson

    Try enabling the write access function on the management card,
    right switch on the two switch dip on the right side of the
    management module, down=enabled.

    The left switch when enabled will reset system default parameters
    on power-up or restart. Set this to disabled = up if you want to
    keep the IP address in case the box power's up or resets.
