    Hello,
    
    	I have a customer who would like some info. regarding the
    Decconcentrator 900mx and whether it is ansi compliant.  Can anyone
    give me this information, or point me in the right direction as to
    where I can get this?

    The short answer is that, yes, it is ANSI compliant. 
    
    Is there some specific thing they have asked you to provide, or 
    would this be enough?

FCC Notice   - Class A device 
               This equipmnt generates, uses, and may emit radio frequency 
               energy. The equipment has been type tested and found to comply 
               with the limits for a Class A computing device pursuant to 
               Supart J of Part 15 of FCC rules.

VCCI Notice  - Class 1 Computing Device
               This equipment is in the 1st Class category. (information
               equipment to be used in commercial and/or industrial areas),
               and conforms to the standards set by the Voluntary Control
               Council for interference by Data Processing Equipment and
               Electronic Office Machines aimed at preventing radio
               interference in commercial and/or industrial areas.

Laser Notice - Class 1 Laser Device
               The lasers in this equipment are Class 1 devices, compliant 
               with CDRH Rules 22,CFR Subchapter J, Part 1040.10, at date 
               of manufacture. Class 1 laser devices are not considered to 
               be hazardous.

CE Notice    - Class A Computing Device
               This is a Class A product. In a domestic environment this
               product may cause radio interference, in which case the
               user may be required to take adequate measures.

    It's important to note that the conc is ANSI compliant, but not all the
    PMDs are. The DEFXU (UTP modPMD) is not ANSI compliant (i'm not sure
    that the ANSI committee has ratified it yet). The DEFXS (single-mode modPMD
    ) is also not ANSI compliant (we support a 40 km single-mode link -- ANSI 
    is either 20 or 60 km).
    
    The DEFXM (multimode modPMD) is 100% compliant.
