1676.0. "DEFPA-UA FDDI over UTP loopback?" by ANGLIN::MILLER () Mon May 08 1995 00:11

    I need to test a DEFPA-UA (PCI FDDI over UTP) card. Anybody know what
    the pinning of an RJ45 loopback connector for this config would be? The
    driver floppy makes reference to a loopback while running INSTVER.EXE,
    but does not provide pinouts for such.

    Thanks,

Connect pin 1 to pin 7, pin 2 to pin 8.

If you hold the MJ plug towards you with the little plastic retaining
clip pointing down, pin 1 will be on the right.

I forgot to add that *all* TP-PMD interfaces are pinned out the
same way. This loopback connection will work on all UTP FDDI
devices.
