I have a customer who is interested in FDDI over either UTP or ScTP.
They are concerned about both the noise immunity of the cable as well
as the radiated noise that might come from the cable...
Does any one know where I might be able to find such information?
Thanks
Jim
P.S Application is in Air Traffic Control (outside US)

All our UTP products are guaranteed to meet FCC Class A and CE-Mark Class
A. Some of our equipment is certified to Class B requirements as well.
Noteably, the DEFEA-UA and DEFPA-UA meet Class B. This should satisify
your question as to radiated emissions.
Now, for radiated susceptability, our products will operate at an error
rate <= 2.5x10^(-10) in the presence of a 3 V/m e-field from 1MHz to
1GHz. I believe the e-field source is 100% AM moduled at 1KHz.
The details of all of the emissions/conducted tests are covered in DEC
STD 103.

p.s. i'm not sure of Digital's "mission critical" policy. You'd better
check into that before selling anything into such a market.
