1664.0. "Are there any know FDDI restart problems ?" by CSC32::COLTER () Fri Apr 28 1995 19:08
My customer has a VAX7640 running V6.1 of OPENVMS and it a standard
ethernet as well as an FDDI. During the evening (23:00) the customers
network experienced an FDDI problem that eventually caused the system
to lock up at 09:00 the following morning. From the log is appears the
the last time a restart was attempted was at 7:05 AM.

The FDDI fiber problem was repaired at 8:00 in the morning, and the
system hung up around 09:00. Is there a reason that the FDDI failed to
restart after the network was repaired? Does DECNET have a failure
threshold that will prevent it from trying to restart the FDDI?
