Can someone confirm if the following is a supported configuration
and will work.
Customer is running OpenVMS V6.1-1H2.
Customer has;
AlphaServer 1000 4/200, wants to use a DEFPA,
from the DEFPA into a
CISCO WSC1202 switch
out of the CISCO WSC1202 switch to some
AlphaStations connected via ethernet.
I know nothing about this Cisco box, the customer tells me it has two
FDDI connections and 8 ethernet connections.
Customer wants us to confirm that he will be able to boot the AlphaStations
off of the AlphaServer in this configuration.
I have read that with patch kit AXPLAN03_061 the DEFPA adapter will be
supported by OpenVMS AXP V6.1 upwards.
Are there ant known issues with this sort of configuration.
John.

SYS$FWDRIVER.EXE is provided in AXPLAN03_061 for those customers willing to run the unsupported driver and hardware until upgrading to V6.2. It works but it requires manual configuration which is described in another note 1652.1 - Dick | |||||
