Is FDDI twisted pair an IEEE standard? If not is it planned to be a standard and will it become a standard? Thanks very much for help. Soumetty.

No. It's an ANSI standard (it might even be an ISO standard by now). | |||||

The standard will be an ANSI standard, not an IEEE standard. IEEE did not standardize the FDDI specs. The spec number is X3.263. Officially it is not yet approved, but it has passed all ballots, and is awaiting the final approval by the ANSI Board of Standards Review. |
