Hi Folks I've been asked by a customer to quote to upgrade his TURBOchannel network servers from Ethernet to FDDI. As he is currently running OPENVMS 6.1 what will he need if I introduce DEFTA-AA/DA/UA's into his DEC3000 and DEC3600's? He is introducing applications within two weeks which he has been told will saturate his existing network so a quick reply would be very much appreciated. Phil

| Hello,

The DEFTA is supported under OpenVMS V6.1, but I just worked an issue
where the AXPLAN03_061 fixed some wierd DEFTA problems. Here are the
TIMA kit release notes regarding the DEFTA:

*OpenVMS] AXPLAN03_061 Alpha V6.1 LAN ECO Summary

o The DEFTA for TurboChannel systems has a data corruption
problem. This fix provides a driver software fix for that
problem. Also, DEFPA support is added.

DECnet, IP, SCA (clustering) work well over the DEFTA.

    Good Day,
    John
