Also posted in Cisco notes conference. -------------------------------------- We get the following error message when we connect a Cisco 7000 to an existing FDDI ring consisting of DECconecentrator 500s and DECbridge 600s. %cbus-3-init error interface 8 error (802E) LDB0000000 0 RX_SETUP -CBUS-INIT When we put a FDDI cable on the 7000 from port A to port B there were no errors. As per Cisco systems error messages, this means a H/W device did not respond appropriatley to a request and the Recommended Action is "Make sure the device is functioning and is configured correctly." We replaced the FDDI card in slot 8 - still same problem. We replaced Switch processor and had a different problem. Unable to boot up using the new switch processor module. This board fails with exception l4 at pc 0x120c. I am trying to get all the rev level information. Any suggestions ? Alphonse

When we connect the Cisco 7000's FDDI card to a ring with DECbridge 900MX it works OK. When we connect it to a DECbridge 620 it fails with the symptom in .0. Alphonse | |||||
