Single mode fiber adapters???!!! Is there really a business case for
this?
Today there are no plans to produce a SMF FDDI adapter on any bus, but
you should check with the DEFPA (FDDI PCI) product manager (George
Nielsen) at DELNI::G_NIELSEN to be sure. If you have a strong business
case for it, maybe it can happen.

No business case. I had a configuration where around 10 alphas would
each be connected to two gigaswitch/FDDIs. The gigaswitches would be
greater than 2KM apart. All this for redundancy.
