Hi, I have a customer system, SABLE running OSF/1 V3.0, with a DEFEA Fddi controller. This system keeps getting "fta0: MAC CRC Error", about 4-5 messages over a week. Can somebody help to explain what's "MAC CRC Error" and if there is any cause of alarm. Thanks for any comment/advise. -chinheng-

This is a non-fatal error: packet is discarded (sender will transmit again in most cases). This might be due to bad hardware: module or cable. Perhaps re-seeding or using another slot might help.
