1534.0. "Alias and OSI runs OK over Ethernet, not FDDI." by STKHLM::DUFVA (Nils Dufva - TSSC Gvle Sweden) Mon Dec 19 1994 16:17
Cross-posted in the DECnet-VAX notesfile:
I just spoke to a customer that has upgraded a VAX cluster from VMS
V5.5-2 with DNVEXT to VMS V6.1 with DECnet Ph.IV.
After the upgrade communicating between this cluster and DECnet/OSI
nodes didn't work at all.
Accessing the cluster by cluster alias didn't work either, except from
the cluster itself.
They had minimized the cluster to one VAX 6510 with VMS V6.1 and DECnet
Ph.IV routing. They run over FDDI (a DEMFA).
To put a long story short, I asked them to use the previously unused
DEMNA and run over Ethernet instead.
Then cluster alias worked and so did communication with DECnet/OSI
nodes. Are there a bug in the FXDRIVER maybe or have I missed something
obvious?
Regards,
Nils.
