    I'm not sure if this is the best Notesfile for this, but here goes ...
    
    In London, there are a number of new service providers springing up -
    COLT, MFS etc. - who have fibre between the City and Docklands , and
    provide a number of services over this, including "virtual Ethernet" -
    they provide you with an AUI port at each location and it looks like
    you have one big Ethernet connecting the sites.
    
    Has anyone any experience of using these services ? I believe they can
    provide an FDDI link between buildings as well.
