1503.0. "OBR connector type" by LFOIS1::MOUSSU (so unusuaL terM) Fri Nov 18 1994 09:46

Hi,

One customer is going to connect some AXP directly on an FDDI ring
in DAS mode. As he will purchase OBR at a third-party
vendor (AMP, I guess), and states that OBR do runs
with 4 or 5 different electrical standards (DB-9, RJ45,...)
he asked me which type of electrical connector for OBR control we provide on
the following adapters:

DEFTA-DA
DEFPA-DA

He said it looks like RJ11 (6-pins) but we'd like that
could be confirmed.
Ideally we'd like to get the cabling drawing to verify
the interoperability between our card and the OBR he will purchase.

We use the 6 pin RJ-11 jack for our OBR interconnects. The pinout is as follows:

	Pin 1,2: Control voltage output
	Pin 3,4: Control voltage return
	Pin 5: OBR present signal
	Pin 6: Ground

Yeah, it's the same. We haven't changed the OBR pinnout since day 1.
