Hi all, one month ago we had biggest computer fair here in Czech republic. We had there FDDI network based on GIGAswitch/FDDI, DEChub 900MS and DEFEA cards in Sables and Jensens. I was contacted by people from one of our university. He was interested in our FDDI solution and especially in FDDI cards for EISA and PCI. But he has following problem: They are running aplications under BSD/386 operating system from BSDI, but there is no driver for DEFEA a even for any other FDDI card. They are able to develop driver themselves but they need apropriate documentation. I would like to know if there is such documentation available for users/developers and how to get/buy it. Can somebody help to get above mentioned documentation? Thank you in advance Jarry

Matt Thomas has been gracious enough to develop some FreeBSD drivers for Digital's NICs on his own time, but as you mentioned, there are no scheduled plans to develop these drivers for the FDDI controllers. >>Can somebody help to get above mentioned documentation? We do have sample SVR4 UNIX code available and the specifications needed to write a driver for the DEFEA/DEFPA. Please contact the product manager, George Nielsen at DELNI::G_NIELSEN for more information. George is at COMDEX this week, but will be back next week. - Larry | |||||

I am planning on writing such a driver but the lack of either a DEFPA or an EISA system is preventing me from doing so. It's just a matter of time... |
