DECbridge 620 Problem: The SNMP counter IFOutOctets would always return 0 for FDDI is fixed in 1.3H. Whats about the counter IfINOctets, I see the same Problem. Regards Juergen Mayer MCS Germany

The QM module does not store the byte counters for FDDI. The QM module also does some filtering of the FDDI packets which are local to FDDI so if the AP module was to keep track of IfInOctets for FDDI the counter would be inaccurate. Even if the code kept tract of this counter, all the SNMP values returned are only 32 bits. It would overflow every 5-6 minutes and therefore be meaningless. What did you want to do with the counter? | |||||

Sorry for late reply. our customer want create some graphs about utilization etc. because he implemented a new application on his systems and now he means that his networkwork got much more loaded. To analyse this he desided to use those counters. Regards juergen |
