Hi,
I know FDX only works in point-point connections or when attached directly
to the GIGAswitch.
Here's an illustration:
FDX ----->100Mbps
DEFTA----GIGAswitch---concentrator---DEFTA (Workstation-B)
(Workstation-A) | |
| +-----DEFTA (Workstation-C)
|
+--------concentrator---DEFTA (Workstation-D)
<--------100Mbps |
+-----DEFTA (Workstation-E)
Can GIGAswitch work as follows:
a) GIGAswitch transfer(100Mbps) data form Workstation-E to Workstation-A
b) GIGAswitch transfer(100Mbps) data form Workstation-A to Workstation-B
c) Between GIGAswitch and leftside DEFTA work a) and b) simultaneiusly as FDX

I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to do at "c":
>a) GIGAswitch transfer(100Mbps) data form Workstation-E to Workstation-A
>b) GIGAswitch transfer(100Mbps) data form Workstation-A to Workstation-B
>c) Between GIGAswitch and leftside DEFTA work a) and b) simultaneiusly as FDX
The GIGAswitch is no different than any other device we make in
respect to full duplex. The only full duplex connection in your
diagram is the DEFTA on the left.
If you are asking if a GIGAswitch port can simultaneously send and
receive frames, the answer is yes.

Yes, I think so. I know full duplex works simultaneously send and receive frames. If the one side (Workstation-A, concentrator) don't work full duplex FDDI, the other side (DEFTA) works full duplex FDDI, then can between the GIGAswitch and DEFTA work full duplex FDDI ? /Masa | |||||

FDX support on the GIGAswitch is on a per port basis. If you have an
FDX-capable (and enabled) FDDI node that is attached to a GIGAswitch
port, FDX will go into operation, for that port. The remaining
GIGAswitch ports can be attached to anything, or not attached at all.
Well, if they're not attach at all, then you have a pretty
uninteresting network configuration. :-)
