1411.0. "TP-PMD as Port A/B on DC900MX" by PRSSOS::GROSSETETE () Tue Jul 26 1994 06:22

    	Hi,

    	Is it possible to connect a DECconcentrator 900MX to
    an other one using TP-PMD daughter board ?
    If yes, is it supported by the current version of DECconcentrator 900MX
    firmware (v.2.0) ?

    Best regards
    Patrick

1411.1sure. TP-PMD can be A,B,M, or SKALVIN::MELARAGNITue Jul 26 1994 21:0913
    Sure, you can do that. But why do you want to? Are the concs in the
    same DECHub 900 backplane? If so, connect them via the matrix backplane
    (i guess we market this as 'flex-channel', or some damned thing. Or is
    that one of our competitors?).

    TP-PMD ports are not restricted to their port types. They can be any
    kind of port you like. Just remember that the MF connector itself is
    not keyed like the MIC connectors are (A,B,M,S). Confusion can rule if
    the installer is not CAREFUL about what ports are connected to what.

1411.2no F.O. but Cat 5 TP already there.PRSSOS::GROSSETETEWed Jul 27 1994 05:0013
    	Bill,

    	Thanks for the answer.
    Our customer wants to do that because a F.O. Dual Ring is
    already installed, going through the satellite equipment room
    but not through this small computer room. As there is already cat. 5
    T.P. cables installed between the SER and this Computer Room,
    he would like to use it, so he won't need to install new F.O.
    cables.

    Best regards
    Patrick
