Are these adapters connected to a concentrator, point to point or do
they have loopbacks installed?

| HALLO ALL,
If seen this Problem also , we have VAX 10620 with 2 xmi bus and each
has a T2027 DEFMA inst. One is connected to a Gigaswtich M Port and one
has a Loopback connector . Sometime it happens when you reboot the
system it cant Initialize the DEFMA get a - . Most time we have to
Power down the VAX and then works fine . The Vax has COnsole V4.0 and
the DEFMA uCode 2.0 . Is there a already a fix or a explanation about
this behavior.

1388.5 | T2027 LEDs - status blinking | HAMER::KENEFICK | | Fri Sep 15 1995 13:40 | 14 |
| Hi All,
I install 2 demfa's in a 6620, one in slot 4 and the other in slot 11.
there is know fiber connection at this time. I have the FDDI loopback
connectors plugged into the H3063's. After powering the system up the
indication of the LED's are - Selftest LED on steady, Status LED
blinking, operating system not booted. Is this a problem or is it
because there is no fiber connected? If it is a problem what might it
be. According to the install guide it says it needs a host driver
installed and enabled. Is this the cause of the blinking status LED?
Thanks for the help.

Hi Mark,
You are right! As soon as the operation system loads the (FX?) driver
your blinking port led will go steady-on. This is expected behaviour.
If you have VMS, it will go steady-on after SYSGEN> Autoconfigure All
I've seen this personally on VAX9000's and VAX7000's.
Cheers,
Bart.

1388.8 | T2027 fails selftest after reboot | 49393::HENGARTNER | | Sun Apr 14 1996 13:04 | 9 |
| Hallo All
In the last 6 months I had the same problem on 4 different CPU's
(8400,6620,7610,6310). The customer makes a reboot and selftest led
didn't come on anymore - even after powerfail and reseating the module.
These modules seems to be really bad. That looks strange to me as the
modules worked fine until the customer has made a reboot and selftest
never past again after this. Do you have any similar experience?
Thank you Bruno Hengartner
