1372.0. "?Disable Purger on DEFZA" by NACAD::SLAWRENCE () Mon Jun 13 1994 10:40
I have a small FDDI with 4 Servers (1 AXP/OSF1, 3 DECstation
5000s/Ultrix) all using DEFZAs. They seem to be running the Ring
Purger, and I would like to disable it - can anyone tell me how to turn
it off?
Before you tell me why I shouldn't do this, let me say that I have read
those notes and understand; if it makes you happier, I will say that I
will likely _enable_ the ring purger on one or more of the
Concentrators or DECbridges on the ring. The reason I want to turn it
off is that HUBwatch can't give me any useable utilization numbers when
it is on; if I can get the systems to stop running it, then I can
disable it on the network equipment whenever I want to get that data
and then turn it on again.
