*******CSCPAT_0578 and OpenVMS/AXP not working******
I try to install the CSCPAT_0578 for Updating DEMFA-Firmware
on a DEC7000-610 Cluster with OpenVMS/AXP V1.5 1H1 running.
VMSINSTAL fails with "wrong VMS-Version"
I found in Kitinstal.COM a logical that ask for VMS-Version
5.4 or later. There was no checking for AXP-Version.
The Question is,can I modify the Kitinstal.COM or download
the DEMFA.SYS file to DENFA ?
Or
Is a PATCH for OpenVMS/AXP available ?

I reviewed the release notes and available doucumentation for the
CSCPAT 578 release. The conclusion is that it is ok for AXP v1.5
systems IF CSCPAT 2023 has been applied first! The 2023 kit addresses
SYS$FXDRIVER fixes.

DEMFA Firmware Release 2.0 for FDDIcontroller
400; VMS/VAX V5.3+, VMS/AXP V1.5+, #578 V1.1
Note the release notes for #578 indicate the code is not suitable for
AXP 7000 or 10000 cpus.
You can edit the KITINSTAL.COM as you see fit to get the kit online
for the AXP V1.5 or higher, providing the cpu is not a 7000/10000.
We will try to get the KITINSTAL.COM updated asap to handle the AXP.
