Anyone have numbers for the interface only in terms of bits per second for the DEFEA? 22 byte packets ?? Mbps > ?? byte packets 100 Mbps As always when applications are added, you mileage will vary. Thanks in advance. dave

Dave, Have you checked out the FDDI NICs whitepaper? It includes some performance data. You can find it on ftp.digital.com in /pub/DEC/DECinfo/whitepaper/fddi-nics.ps. Throughput wise, the highest we've seen is 112-114 Mbps in full-duplex mode. I have some data for IPX and IP routing performance at various packet sizes in a Novell MultiProtocol Router setup with two DEFEAs in each server (one receiving, one transmitting). This data was taken at Scott Bradner's bridge/router study last year. - Larry |
