The release notes for the latest Windows NT DEFEA driver state that the deault TCP window size is 8k and should be increased for better performance. The example says to set TcpWindowSize to x8000 Is x8000 the same as the default? if so, what would be a reasonable value to increment this to? Some guidance would be appreciated, I have both a server and client machines using this card. Thanks

> Is x8000 the same as the default? No the default is 8k (0x2000), but by changing it to 0x8000 you are changing the default to 64k. I guess its a little confusing because of the using both talking about both hex decimal. doug Developer of the Windows NT driver for the DEFEA | |||||

[Crossposted in DAYTONA-BETA, FDDI, NT-DEVELOPERS, NTAXP, SABLE, SABLE-NT, and WINDOWS-NT] +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ DEC FDDIcontroller/EISA (DEFEA) NDIS 3.0 miniport driver now available for Internal Field Test. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ v1.42T of the new "Daytona-Ready" DEFEA drivers is now available for internal field test. These drivers support all three DEFEA variants (SAS MMF, DAS MMF, SAS UTP) on both Alpha AXP and Intel versions of Windows NT 3.5. To keep control of the driver kit distribution, I've already sent mail to individuals with prior interest in the driver. If you did not receive that mail and are interested in having the driver kit pointer, please send email to YESWAY::STEFANI. Once the driver kit is stable for a wider distribution, it will be made available on all of the public areas (KALI::PCDRIVERS, Gatekeeper, CompuServe, etc.) If there are any questions, please send mail.
