| 1283.1 | Discount sources for FDDI Handbook | ERLANG::JAIN |  | Tue Mar 22 1994 23:17 | 20 |
| | The FDDI Handbook is not available from Digital Press. It is
    published by Addison-Wesley, Reading, MA, Phone: 800-822-6339
    and costs $49.50. Ask for ISBN 0-201-56376-4. Email:[email protected]

    You should be able to get it at most technical bookstores. The
    following two stores offer discounts to Digital employees:
    1. Quantum Books, Cambridge, MA, Phone: (617)494-5042 10% discount
    2. Book clearing house, Phone: (914)835-0015 12% (or 15%?) discount on
       single copy orders. More on multiple copies. They also accept
       DEC purchase orders from your cost center.

    For bulk orders (25+) copies, Addison-Wesley has a good discount
    schedule. Please contact Tim Mathieu, Phone: (617)-944-3700 Ext 2418,
    Email: [email protected] for details.

    DEC is currently considering the possibility of printing a customized
    version. However, the decision process may take some time.

| 1283.3 | Table of Contents? | NSTG::OUIMETTE | Don't just do something, sit there! | Wed Mar 30 1994 13:17 | 11 |
|  |     	Raj,

    Is there any possibility of getting a posting of the book's table of
    contents here? I'm sure the book is excellent, but for those of us some
    distance from a technical bookstore where we can leaf through the book,
    it would be great to have an idea of what's inside prior to phoning in
    an order.

    					thanks,

    Chuck O.

| | I saw a seminar announcement recently that listed Raj Jain as one of
    the speakers, but also listed Ohio State University as his place of
    employment. I assume this means Raj has left Digital? THat's a real
    loss. Anyone know if this is the case or is he doing some sort of
    sabbatical?

| | Indeed, he has left. I can see why, because his talents are a good match
for the academic world. But as you say, it's quite a loss.
