1264.0. "DEFCN Status Indicators go out on idle ports!" by NSTG::FOX (David B. Fox -- DTN 285-2091) Mon Mar 07 1994 13:07
I'm having a problem with a DECconcentrator 500 that is pretty much
identical to the problem described in note 1141. The hardware,
software, and board revs are identical.
After a period of time, all of the ports that are not connected to
anything stop flashing green. THe OBM port is hung as well. If I
unplug the box and don't wait a few seconds before plugging it in all
of the status indicators turn on and red. The box will not complete
its power-up self test. If I wait a bit before pluggin it back in, the
test succeeds just fine and the LEDs blink as expected.
I'm pulling the V3.4 firmware kit from NPSS as we speak. Will this
help my situation or do you think there is a hardware problem? The box
is relatively new and is not getting beaten upon traffic wise.
Thanks!
