Can someone please advise re: the following query - Net Mgt is not my strong point... A customer has DECbridge 520's and wishes/needs to set IP protocol filters. They already have an SNMP manager based on SUN - I have requested more details on just which one is running... My question : Is it possible to manage such facilities as Protocol Filters from SNMP or does this require Digital "proprietary" management via the likes of DECmcc and the Bridge AM etc. ? thanks Rog

What do you mean by "IP protocol filters"? Do you mean filtering on the IP protocol type in the datalink header, or do you mean filtering on fields in the IP header? (If the latter, the answer is that there is no such thing in any of our bridges.) paul | |||||

Sorry Paul - I was refering to the bridge's capabilities to filter protocol types and source/destination addresses. Rog |
