| "Ring purge errors" is the correct name.
This indicates the number of times the ring purger saw a token while it was
looking for the Void frames that tell it to stop purging frames. The ring
purger sends two voids followed by the token each time it sees the token; then
it strips all frames until it sees one of the void frames it sent. If it sees
a token first, that can mean one of two things:
1. Both void frames were lost by some sort of data error.
2. There is a duplicate token.
Both can be caused by (unlikely) bit errors. (2) can also be caused by other
problems, such as a duplicate address on the ring. If you're seeing a lot
of purge errors, the likely answer is that somone is generating duplicate
tokens. If you see one every few weeks or so, it shouldn't be a problem.
