I'm having problems with the DEFEA-AA Windows NT drivers for the ALPHA AXP. When trying to install these on the ALPHA AXP we get an error msg that the system cannot find the OEMSETUP.INF... This does not seen to be the case since they are in the root directory of the A:\ drive. The drivers where had from gatekeeper.dec.com /pub/DEC/EISA/FDDI in file DEFEAV22.ZIP... Just for grins I checked the OEMSETUP.INF on an Intel system and it read just fine. Anyone else have this problem or know of a work around ? Thanks Carl

Carl, Sorry for the late response, I just got back from vacation. >>I'm having problems with the DEFEA-AA Windows NT drivers for the ALPHA >>AXP. When trying to install these on the ALPHA AXP we get an error >>msg that the system cannot find the OEMSETUP.INF... This does not seen >>to be the case since they are in the root directory of the A:\ drive. I believe you have to specify the A:\WINNT\AXP directory explicitly, or the installation procedure will just look in the root directory (A:\). If this doesn't work, please send mail to Doug Washabaugh (ABASIN::DOUG) who is the author/maintainer of the Windows NT drivers. Note: The current version of the Alpha driver requires a specific controller hardware configuration in the Jensen. >>The drivers where had from gatekeeper.dec.com /pub/DEC/EISA/FDDI >>in file DEFEAV22.ZIP... Those are the latest released device drivers. I believe there is an updated FT version kicking around, but you would need to check with Doug. - Larry Stefani FDDI Adapters Engineering High Performance Networks | |||||

There is an incorrect line in the oemsetup.inf in the alpha directory. At about the 5th line, the word Jensen must be replaced with Jazz. The correct line is: "Jazz-Internal Bus" The alternative is to copy the oemsetup.inf from the intel directory. doug |
