lavc cluster with VAX4300 as boot node.
DECNETVAX EXTENSION v5.4b.
yesterday , customer installed FDDI controller board into
the system without having the cable connected to the FDDI ring.
Also there is no loopback connected on the board.
Today , user performed
$ sysgen sh/unibus
This crashes the system.
I do not familier with FDDI, nor I have the source for FQDRIVER.
Can someone help me to see there is problem with hw configuration
of FDDI controller ?

| Ya. so. SHOW /UNIBUS has never recommened for use on a running system.
From the help on SHOW /UNIBUS:
Tests every word in UNIBUS I/O space and returns a list of addresses
that respond and the value that was read. Note that this command is
useful for debugging UNIBUS autoconfigure problems, but it is not
recommended for use on a running system. All UNIBUS adapters are the
default, /ADAPTER=adapter-spec can be specified. Requires CMKRNL
privilege.
