1159.0. "snmp counters on FDDI" by KERNEL::WARDJO () Thu Nov 25 1993 07:51

    Hello,

        I am trying to find an equivalent counter to the ELMS "Frame Count"
        for a DECbridge and DECConcentrator when it is registered in MCC as an
        SNMP entity.

        The Frame count is "The total number of frames recieved on the
        line, including those frames that the bridge stripped from the ring and
        those that it merely repeated. This total includes MAC frames other than
        tokens, SMT frames, LLC frames, and other FDDI frames."

        When registered as an SNMP entity in MCC the only counters seem to be
        MAC frames (ie the SNMP frames themselves).

        Are such counters supported?
        Do I need a particular MIB?

    I have had no luck asking this question in the MCC conference and I
    can't seem to see such a counter defined in the DEC elanext v2.7 MIB.

    Any help appreciated,

        Regards,

        Jon

It's in the FDDI MIB, as fddimibMACFrameCts.

This is also rather a useless counter.
