    I would like to confirm the ucode update strategy for fddi products. 
    
    It appears that we, field service personnel, should be adding mdds
    (media and documentation) line items to the customer contract. This
    will ensure that the customer will be shipped the update, complete with 
    NDU and a license when it becomes available. ie the same strategy as any 
    other software product...VMS, Fortran, etc.
    
    Obviously the mdds adds will require prior customer consent because
    there is a cost associated with it. For example, QY-MF4AB-A5, is the
    mdds part number for the fddi controller 400, Demfa, update kit on
    TK50. The per month pricing is $83 Canadian. 
    
    I can foresee the pricing being an issue with some customers and would
    therfor like to confirm that this is indeed, our strategy. I also want
    to avoid the many problems documented in note 755. I have been down
    that road before, hopefully, never again.
