1138.0. "DECbridge 620 Diagnostic Dump Block Question...?" by CSC32::CSC32::BLACKMER (Ralph Blackmer CSC/CS/IISG Netsupport) Wed Nov 03 1993 18:18

I received a call on a DECbridge 620 that logged one "Unsolicited Reset" and
I was FAXed a copy of the dump. I see a breakdown of the error log in the
Technical Description Manual for the DECbridge 500.(p.10-12)

I presume the format of that dump is the same for each but I was not sure about
the content of the information or any expanded information that may be available
for the 620, over what I see for information on the 500.

I was also not quite sure on how to read it out. Obviously in HEX, from left to
right?,...Like a memory dump,..right to left?

The reason I question it is, the information I am seeing in the dump does not
appear to match what I see in the documentation. Since there may be information
with multiple ports on the 620 I have to believe there may be additional
information in a 620 dump, not found in a 500 dump...Correct or Incorrect?

I do have the dump but see more value in asking about the breakout than
attempting to type it all into the system.

Thanks

    Ralph,

See Note 825.* for starters. You should be able to write the diag.
block to a file with ELMS, (maybe MCC; I haven't found a way with MSU)-
this is what I expect the formatter uses for input.

I'm told that the ASCII dump isn't much use without the code
listings. Apparently there's no document on the layout of the 620's
    block.
