Question on patches and AXP. CSCPAT_0578010 DEMFA Firmware Release V2.0. There was a warning in the release notes that this firmware should not be loaded on an VMS/AXP system because this rev of the firmware would not be supported until the next major release of VMS/AXP. CSCPAT_2023010 V1.0 fix kit for SYS$FXDRIVER.EXE. In the release notes for this patch there is the note: o DEMFA firmware V2.0 changed the size of one of the commands. This causes DECnet to fail to start if V2.0 firmware is in the DEMFA. Does this imply that if CSCPAT_2023010 is installed on a VMS/AXP system that we can upgrade the DEMFA firmware to V2.0?

Joe, When CSCpat 578 was released, CSCpat 2023 didn't exist. CSCpat 578 should be updated to reflect that DEMFA V2.0 can be used on an AXP as long as CSCpat 2023 is applied. Brad |
