hello, I am looking for the easiest way to upgrade the firmware of a gigaswitch system. The load host will be an Ultrix system. The customer says that Decndu+ is now available and this utility (Network Device Upgrade) should be able to load new firmware to the gigaswitch. Does anyone know if Decndu+ is ready, if it can upgrade Gigaswitch firmware and where I can get it ? regards Arvid Nes DEC, Bergen, Norway

You should probably check the SCHOOL::GIGASWITCH conference but I thought the only way to upgrade the firmware in a GIGAswitch was to use an SNMP management station to tell it to go get its firmware. The actual getting of the firmware is then done via either MOP or TFTP (which ever you specify). | |||||
1113.2 | It will work, but it has been delayed | SCHOOL::MDLYONS | Michael D. Lyons - Young enough and dumb enough | Thu Oct 28 1993 15:05 | 8 |
I thought someone was supposed to answer this note, but I guess it didn't happen. In any case, I'll take a shot at it. DECndu Plus when it's available will indeed work for the GIGAswitch. DECndu Plus uses SNMP et cetera, which is why it works for the GIGAswitch. The release was delayed. |
