Our SPECnfs_A93 test results use FDDI interconnects for test configurations, with the clients directly configured to FDDI. Is is prudent to expect this configuration to provide the same level of performance if the clients are connected on ethernet, to the server, with a DECbridge?

From all of the performance studies I've seen, you'll get significantly less performance if your clients are on Ethernet. This is because you will end up using smaller packets (1514) than you would with FDDI (~4500). In fact, for small packet sizes, our adapter does not perform well compared to the competition. doug |
