1084.0. "fza0: port in the Halt State -> Host request to Halt" by CSC32::CALLAGHAN (Remembrance and regrets, are also part of friendship) Thu Sep 09 1993 20:08

While testing a customer problem with a DECstation, a DEFZA, and
    a DECconcentrator, I upgraded the DECstation with a DEFZA-AA.

    (System: DECstaton 5000/120, Ultrix 4.2a)
(DEFZA: ROM rev 1.0, Firmware rev 1.0b)
Made the entry change to the kernel, moved it, and rebooted.

The system hangs in mid boot and repeatedly displays:

fza0: port in the Halt State -> Host request to Halt

Whether I boot in single user of Multi user, it hangs with
a flood of these messages, the LED on the card begins as
a slow flashing red, then goes on steady. Doesn't seem
to matter whether I'm plugged in to the FDDI ring or not.

I'd appreciate any help/suggestions, I'm trying to fix a NASA
    contract problem.

Whats the hardware rev of the DEFZA? Should be at C01.
Also, 1.0 is very old firmware. Upgrade to V1.2 at least
and preferrably V1.3.
1084.2Where can I get the firmware rev?CSC32::CALLAGHANRemembrance and regrets, are also part of friendshipFri Sep 10 1993 14:528
    Thanx Matt,

I'll pull the card and check the hardware rev.

Where can I get the v1.3 firmware rev, and loading
    	info?
