| >>1. Which interrupts can be selected ?
9, 10, 11, or 15
>>2. Which DMA-channels are available ?
None. The DEC FDDIcontroller/EISA uses on-board DMA (a competitive
advantage over slave-DMA).
>>3. How big is the on-board buffer ?
1 Megabyte of packet memory for incoming/outgoing frames.
According to a recent PC Week article, we have much more buffering
than our competitors.

Good question. I'll forward this note to the PM (Sharon Oneill)
and my supervisor so that this can get corrected.

Quick enough? I just got in! :-) :-)

1072.3 | DOS/RMX is supported ?? | TAV02::KATZAV | | Wed Dec 01 1993 12:04 | 11 |

Does the FDDIcontroller/EISA run under DOS/RMX ??
A customer with heavy developed software under dos/rmx would like to
connect via FDDI to Alpha server. Is it supported?
(They need API interface for the driver that can coexist with RMX)
Thanks,
Shimon.

| >>Does the FDDIcontroller/EISA run under DOS/RMX ??
I need to have a better idea of what DOS/RMX is. We supply NDIS and
ODI drivers to allow the DEFEA to run under DOS using most popular
protocol stacks and networking software. Does this DOS/RMX software
run on top of generic NDIS or ODI drivers? If so, then it's likely to
be already supported. If it requires a special driver, then its not
likely to work.
>> (They need API interface for the driver that can coexist with RMX)
I'm not sure what this would entail. Could you provide some more
specifics? We do have an internal specification that defines the port
interface to all of our third-generation FDDI adapters.
