I have a customer who is looking for a VME FDDI interface. The old
FDDI PID mentioned one from DEC but I don't think it got funded.
Also any idea on the performance of the VME FDDI interface would be
appreciated.

Digital did not do a VME FDDI adapter. Other vendors do have them, but I do not currently have a list of them. My impression was that VME adapters would never be the top performers (but then again we have QBUS adapters as well). doug | |||||

According to the August 23, 1993 issue of Communications Week, the
following companies produce FDDI VME controllers:
CMC Network Products/Rockwell International Corp.
Santa Barbara, CA 800-262-8023
Computer Network Technology Corp.
Minneapolis, MN 612-550-8800
Interphase Corp.
Dallas, TX 214-919-9000
Network Peripherals Inc.
Milpitas, CA 408-321-7300
SBE Inc.
San Ramon, CA 800-925-2666
Vista Controls Corp.
Valencia, CA 805-257-4430
No recommendations on any of these products, since I've never worked
with them. Note that none of the East coast networking companies are
listed...interesting.
