In comparison to copper cable, the general answer is no. However, your
question is vague. Can you describe the potential application?

Corning, Inc. warrants the optical & mechanical properties of their
optical fiber for twenty years. You'll need to consult specific cable
manufacturers for their warranties.

My inquires were in response to this question I got from a Sales rep in Moscow:
We were asked by many customers to make proposals for them regarding
networking- how they can connect all their buildings in one network. The
problem is that all of them use press equipment which permanently produce
small earthquakes. When I proposed them fiber optic they said that by their
knowledge fiber optic can not be used in presence of vibration because
physical features of the cable deteriorate very soon. Because of certain
reasons I wouldn't like to propose microwave bridges. So the question is
are they right and what you usually suggest for such customers.
