Hi, I have a question about an API network interface which I heard was a very fast API for programming traffic from an OpenVMS host over FDDI. Does anyone have any information an API called FFI. A customer is about to test some QIO code on FDDI and I would like to be ready with documentation on any better, faster APIs for FDDI host adapters (VAX 7610 VAX 6610s). Thanks, b.b.

I don't know how much longer the FFI interface is going to be around so don't hold your breath on documentation. If your customer needs a fast API into the datalink layer, they should consider using the new datalink interface called VCI. I believe that this interface is going to be officially documented for external use (FFI was never officially documented or supported outside of Digital internal software). Mike |
