    Both the DEFQA and DEFTA can only be used on VAX CPUs running
    VMS V5.5-2.  The LANDD Kit ONLY installs on V5.5-2.
    
    Both the DEFQA and DEFTA drivers will be integrated into VMS
    beginning with V6.1.
    
    Both the DEFQA and DEFTA are NOT supported on VMS V6.0

    I have included these draft documents to give you a heads up as to
    whats required to install both the DEFQA and DEFTA on OpenVMS VAX
    CPUs.  
    
    NOTE: The disk space required to install listed in the draft SSA

		OpenVMS VAX Version 1.0			SPD 45.87.00

 Note: 	This SPD provides supplemental information to be used in
	conjunction with OpenVMS VAX Operating System, Version 5.5-2
	SPD 25.01.36

 DESCRIPTION:

 The DEC LAN Device Driver Kit includes a set of FDDI Adapter device 
 drivers for use on OpenVMS Version V5.5-2 ONLY.  The drivers and FDDI 
 adapters together provide FDDI connectivity for selected Q-bus and 
 TURBOchannel based VAX CPUs.    

 HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

 Specifically this kit includes device drivers for:

	* DEC FDDIcontroller/TURBOchannel DEFTA-FA, with a maximum
	  of (1) per system.

	* DEC FDDIcontroller/Q-bus DEFQA-S*/-D*, with a maximum of
	  two (2) per System Q-bus.

 Processor and/or hardware configurations as specified in the System
 Support Addendum (SSA 45.87.00-A)

 SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS

 OpenVMS VAX Operating System Version V5.5-2 ONLY!

 Every system on which the DEC LAN Device Driver Kit for OpenVMS VAX 
 Version 1.0 is installed must contain:

 o  One TK50 drive or 9trk MagTape/1600bpi available to read the software 
    during installation
