978.0. "EISAcontroller work on SVR4 MP?" by TKOV51::HAYAKAWA (Kouhei Hayakawa, DS/EIC/Network Team/SE, SWDC 11F) Wed Jun 02 1993 05:53

Can FDDIcontroller/EISA driver software work on SVR4 with Multi processors?
I know that SCO MPX V1.1 is supported.

--- the part of SPD ---
  For SCO UNIX applications, the product is supported with SCO UNIX V3.2.2
  and V3.2.4 and Open Desktop (ODT) V1.1 and V2.0. SCO MPX V1.1 is re-
  quired for a 2-CPU system, and for each additional processor added.

    Whose implementation of SVR4 UNIX are you referring to? We have
    investigated porting the SCO UNIX driver source code to SVR4 and have
    written the code in such a manner to facilitate porting. There are
    tentative plans to provide a device driver for a commercially available
    release of SVR4, but nothing has been announced yet.

    As for multi-processor support, the current driver does not have any
    extra code in support of multi-processor machines. The SPD refers to
    SCO UNIX installations with Corollary's MPX software. We would need to
    acquire the device driver developer's kit for "SVR4 MP" to determine
    the effort needed to add SVR4 multi-processor support to the driver.
