DEMFA FPROM UPGRADE QUESTIONS:

I have read all the related topics in FDDI notes conference and
although answers to some of the following questions are sort of there, answers
to all the following questions are not there. Can someone answer all the
following questions: ?
I have to upgrade four DEMFAs - two on VAX 9000-210 and two on VAX 6000-420
systems. They are all at rev 1.3 and I need to upgrade them all to rev 1.4.
These four systems are in a CI/NI cluster.
1)What is the minimum version of NDU I need to instal on VMS ver 5.5-2
systems to upgrade DEMFA modules from version 1.3 to version 1.4. Some say
version 1.1, some say version 1.2 and some say version 2.0 of DECndu is
required.
2)How is DECndu installed? Do we just use VMSINSTAL to instal DECndu.
3)How do we run DECndu ? Is there a user guide or is the help very
good. How do I invoke DECndu to download the new FPROM image into the DEMFA.
Notes file entries give commands such as
down load /reset fxa0: mom$system:demfa014.sys.
At what prompt do I type the above command. Do I type this at the VMS prompt
or any DECndu prompt? Sorry for my ignorance.
4)I have access to CSCPAT_0565011 which gives me DEFMFA014.SYS file
for version 1.4. But I want to play it safe and so does the customer. So where
can I get DEMFA013.SYS (version 1.3 FPROM) which is what we are running now,
so that in case of any problem we can quickly go back to version 1.3. Can we
upload 1.3 from the current DEMFA board and save it in a file using DECndu.
Or can some give me a CSCPAT number to get DEMFA013.SYS file so that I can
go back to 1.3 if I need to.
5)We need the licence for DECndu. We are CSC so we can't ask our CSC
in South pacific Region. (SPR).
6)Any pointers to the DECndu documentation - user guide, operator
guide will help.

If no DECndu user guide is available please provide a few commands to
enable us to load 1.4 code into the DEMFA.

I have a customer that needs the software update pacakge For FDDIcontroller 400:
QB-MF4A8-AA/AB DEC FDDIcontroller 400 Software Update Package $265
for VMS, 16MT9/TK50
This part # is no longer valid what is the new part # or how can I get the
V1.4 microcode release to the customer.
