892.0. "DEFZA, 4000-90 and CLUSTER" by FRSCS::ULRICH (Ergo bibamus) Mon Mar 08 1993 09:53
Hi all,
one customer of us has a problem with the follwing configuration:
3 x VS4000-90, VMS V5.5-2. Two of the three machines have a TURBOchannel
with DEFZA (FDDI) controller.
A "$ SH DEVICE FC" shows FCA0: and FCA1: online on both of these machines.
The green leds on the FDDI-adapters are light.
Here is the config:
----------------- ----------------
| | | |
| 4000-90 | | 4000-90 |
| Satellite | | Satellite |
| |-------| |-------| |
--------+ DEFZA | | DEFZA +-------
| |-------- --------| |
| | (fddi) | |
| \---------------/ |
| |
|-----------------------------------------------------|
| (ethernet)
|
---------------

| 4000-90 |

The question is: Will the cluster software communicate via
the FDDI connection ? Doing a "$ SHOW CLUSTER/CONT" and a
" > ADD CIRC" shows that the cluster is only communicating
via ETHERNET. Nothing shows something about a FDDI device
being used by cluster software.
Is this a config problem ? Will the cluster software communicate
via FDDI ? is the configuration supported ?
Any hints are very welcome !!!!
