	A customer I am involved with has a 6600 with a DEMFA FDDI
	controller, which he is using to run TCP/IP over - amongst
	other things. The problem he has is that it is running at
	firmware version V1.3 - this currently has problems with
	TCP/IP, and he has been advised to upgrade to V1.4

	So far so good.

	He has received the update software.

	He asked his site resident Field Service engineer to do the
	update. The engineer started the procedure, then realised that
	the update relied on the system having DECndu previously
	installed. The customer didn't particularly want this software
	as it would involve buying another PAK and installing software
	which wasn't going to benefit his business, just make the
	update possible to solve a hardware problem.

	The Installation/Problem Solving manual states on page 4-16;

	"Downline upgrades to the DEMFA firmware can be done through
	the downline upgrade utility (DECndu) or through the Network
	Control Program (NCP) for VMS hosts. Contact Digital Customer 
	Services for more information on the downline upgrade utility
	and kits that are available."

	He contacted his Support Centre, they could not supply the
	information to enable him to use NCP to upgrade the DEMFA.

	I've looked on TIMA - same result.

	Can someone supply me with the information so that we can go
	back in and complete the upgrade please.

    The firmware upgrade to the DEMFA can only be done through NDU;
    not through NCP.

    
    	Looking at the saveset, there only seems to be one .SYS file.
    
    	Is it possible to load this from INFOSERVER via MOP request?

No.  The DEMFA can be loadeded using DECndu.  Period.
