826.0. "FDDI Interface & Conformance to ISO Standatds??" by BELFST::OFLAHERTY () Mon Jan 11 1993 08:09

I am responding to an OR from the local University and there is one requirement
that they have re FDDI Interface for the proposed system (a VAX 4000-600 for
Phase I).

It states:

" ...availability of an FDDI interface for the proposed system: in
paricular hoe it conforms to the ISO 9314-2 (MAC) (appendix 2 reference
	36), 9314-1 (Phy) (app 2 ref 37), and 9314-3 (PMD) (appendix 2
reference 38) standards and to the ANSI X3T9/90-078 (SMT) (app 2
ref 39) working document. SMT is not an ISO standard: the Supplier
should indicate whether there is conformance with SMT 6.2 as defined
in the UK GOSIP FDDI LAN 4.0 interim specification and also whether
there is a commitment to upgrade SMT to the final ISO standard"

I had a quick look in this Notes file and it does not seem to answer these.

I believe we conform with SMT 6.2 and PMD but correct me if I'm wrong.

Your help would be appreciated and I need the info ASAP.

Many thanks in advance.

Regards,

Maurice

I am responding to a RFP for Digital's DEChub FDDI products. One requirement of the
responce is to complete a detailed conformance document. The document is entitled:

FDDI Conformance Test Protocol Implementation Conformance Statement
5-28-93 CT-PICS X3T9.5/92-098

Working Draft Proposed
American National Standard
for information systems
Fibre Distributed Data Interface (FDDI)
Conformance Testing Standard

The question is:
Does Digital already have this completed document on file?

If not, might someone be willing to complete it for us?

Please respond here, by mail to CSOA1::SEITZ, or by phone to DTN:432-7615.

Thanks,
Mike Seitz
