Is it possible to configure a DECbridge 620 to globally filter IP packets (ie NOT forward IP packets on any port) and still be manageable via SNMP. In other words does the IP SNMP frame reach the SNMP agent on the bridge before the filtering on the brodge action discards the packet. Thanks Gary

Yes. This doesn't look like a safe thing to do in an IP network though. (since you are managing with SNMP, I assume there's an IP network.) For instance, you would also cut off SNMP management to all devices, including other bridges, on the other side of the bridge (wrt the manager). agr |
