Bernard,
The issue is to SUPPORT SW on MANY non-DEC operating systems.
For UNIX it will be easier when UNIX = OSF wich HP-UX probably
will too in the future.
In the mean time we will provide DEC-NDU for all systems for
wich we support our FDDI controllers.
OpenVMS, ULTRIX, Alpha-OSF, MIPS-OSF, MS-DOS etc
etc include Windows/NT during 1993.
SO - would not your customer have a PC somewhere ?
I DON't think it needs to sit on FDDI, Ethernet should do,
but that the development team need to confirm.

PS,
DEC-NDU product manager is Mike DELNI::Bouchard

Of course, there are PC, even VMS systems. But, he tries/wants to
have only one network managment station.

Is there anyone reading this conference that would be prepared
to provide a SHORT list of NON-DEC UNIX to support for loading
FDDI firmware ?
What additional business volume would you see as a result compared
to just providing DEC NDU on DOS (Novell+Microsoft), Windows/NT,
SCO UNIX, ULTRIX/OSF and OpenVMS ?
